John Field Brown is an Austin-based filmmaker, producer, director, and editor dedicated to bringing ambitious creative projects to life through collaboration, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. A graduate of Texas State University with a BFA in Film Production and a minor in Business Administration, John has built a diverse production background spanning narrative film, commercial content, live events, and broadcast media.

 

Since 2021, John has worked in the production department across feature films, television, commercials, documentaries, and corporate media. His experience includes working with companies such as FOX Sports, WarnerMedia, UPROXX, Vanishing Angle, and 26 Keys Productions, as well as working alongside acclaimed filmmakers including Robert Rodriguez, Carlota Pereda, Annie Silverstein, Bryan Poyser, and Chris Beier.

 

As a filmmaker, John has written, directed, produced, and edited multiple award-winning short films. His latest completed film, “yer smackin,” premiered at the Austin Film Festival and later screened at the Oscar-qualifying deadCenter Film Festival, as well as Julien Dubuque International Film Festival, Capital City Film Festival, and other festivals across the United States. His films have earned Best Comedy at Borrego Springs Film Festival and Best Student Film at Oneota Film Festival, and have been featured as a Daily Pick by Film Shortage.

 

In 2023, John founded FieldFilms, a production company dedicated to developing original narrative films while also producing commercial, corporate, and branded content. He is currently developing future narrative projects while continuing to build a career as a producer and director in the independent film industry.
